We all know that squaring the head on a manual mill can be a difficult and time consuming job. Most machinists avoid it whenever possible. However, after tilting the head or breaking a tool, this operation is absolutely necessary, especially if there is precision work to be done. EZ-TRAM makes it easy to accurately check or align the head DIRECTLY ABOVE THE WORK. Simply clean off the mill table, (no need to remove your vise or work set-up*), attach your indicator to the spindle of the mill and bring the indicator contact tip to the surface of the EZ-TRAM. Swing the indicator a full 360 degrees to check or align the head. The large gaging surface of the EZ-TRAM is gentle on your indicator and allows rapid movement of your tool.

EZ-TRAM allows the operator to quickly check and align the spindle of a vertical turret mill, perpendicular to the machine table without disturbing the work set-up (in most cases). EZ-TRAM is made of cast iron, has a 15.7" diameter with a 1.8" wide gaging surface, fits over a 6" machine vise with swivel base and is precision lapped flat to within .000070" over the entire gaging surface and parallel to within .00030" surface to surface.

The EZ-TRAM is 15.7" in diameter and fits over a standard 6" machine vise mounted on a swivel base. The EZ-TRAM will also fit over a standard 8" wide machine vise without a swivel base.
